Broad uptrend in stocks continues
on

Alex, [ETF,Exchange-traded funds]
We’re recommending a few funds this week, including international funds, financials, real estate, and semiconductors. The uptrend in financials appears the strongest though it is relatively new. Pharmaceuticals, which we recommended last week, are still in an relatively low-risk uptrend, but the expected return for our new recommendations is higher. Bonds, particularly government bonds, are [...]

Other sectors that are doing well include pharma, biotech, and insurance. In our Conservative allocation, we’re getting back into utilities, which remain relatively safe.

Networking and semiconductor stocks continue to do well
on
2010/03/14 by
Alex, [ETF,Exchange-traded funds]
Since networking and semiconductor stocks, which we recommended last week, continue to do well, we are recommending them again. Semiconductors are still in danger of being overbought, as are other sectors that are performing well, such as pharmaceuticals and biotech.

Stocks have been sliding relentlessly since January 20. While we are adjusting our position to over 90 percent cash, we do believe that there is still some near-term growth potential for stocks, especially in certain sectors. Real estate, pharmaceuticals, and large-cap stocks look particularly good.
